After earning my Occupational Therapy (OT) degree more than 25+ years ago from Utica College of Syracuse University, I had the fabulous opportunity of designing a clinic where I was the director and therapist supporting Autistic individuals with very significant sensory processing differences. They were, along with their families, my teachers. Presuming competence has come naturally to me and has been my guide throughout my practice. As an OT I have connected with non-speaking Autistic people and used EFT to assist with decreasing stress and anxiety that may accompany the challenges of apraxia when typing to communicate.
I take pride in being an "Out of the Box" therapist. I have never been content with "cookie-cutter" approaches. My intent has always been to support individuals in navigating their world with greater comfort and confidence.
In addition to working in this clinic I have worked:
At a local Tribal School with children 0-5 years old
With youth/teens at a Mental Health Hospital
In family's homes
At agencies advocating for individuals with Developmental Disabilities
In Private Practice
I now see people of all ages and all abilities and it continues to be a joy for me to work as a holistic Occupational Therapist (OT) in assisting individuals to resolve issues of:
Anxiety
Stress
Fears
Social/Emotional challenges
Low Self-Esteem
No one deserves to struggle with these difficult challenges.
