Maureen Brady, OTR/L, has been a holistic Occupational Therapist for over 20 years. She was fortunate to have the opportunity to complete her internship at the Ayres Clinic in Torrance, CA. It was here that A. Jean Ayres, PhD, OTR, developed Sensory Integration, the now widely accepted theory that addresses neurological challenges for many individuals. After Maureen earned her degree from Utica College of Syracuse University she pursued her vision of opening a clinic in Syracuse, NY that focused on sensory processing interventions where she met and worked with children, teens and adults who had been diagnosed with Autism. This journey of connecting with individuals in the clinic included a rewarding bond with their families.
Since moving to the Seattle area in 2006 Maureen has continued to increase her knowledge and skills to assist individuals of all ages with Autism, ADHD, anxiety and learning challenges in improving sensory processing abilities, decreasing anxiety, increasing focusing and attending abilities and improving self-regulation.
Maureen has incorporated the evidence-based practice of Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) in helping individuals to decrease fears including specific phobias and nightmares. She incorporates Therapeutic Listening and Rhythmic Movement Techniques (RMT) and has seen positive benefits for the many individuals she has worked with including improved sleeping, eating, digestion and motor skills. Maureen continues to be passionate about supporting parents and their children and assisting individuals to be more comfortable in their bodies, be more successful in their goals and have an overall sense of improved self-esteem.
